De Pentax K-1 Mark II Body is een 35mm full-frame digitale spiegelreflexcamera, de opvolger van de Pentax K-1. De K-1 Mark II is ontwikkeld om het nieuwe vlaggenschip van de Pentax K-serie te zijn. Naast een uitstekende beeldkwaliteit biedt dit model uitstekende beeldvormingsprestaties en een veel betere bedienbaarheid om tegemoet te komen aan een breder scala aan onderwerpen en scènes. Door een nieuwe, ingebouwde versneller te koppelen aan de Prime IV-beeldverwerkingsengine, zorgt deze voor een vlekkeloze werking met hoge snelheid en een uitstekende ruisonderdrukking, waardoor de beeldkwaliteit en supergegevoelige beeldprestaties worden verbeterd. Het door Pentax ontwikkelde Pixel Shift Resolution System - de nieuwste superresolutietechnologie die is ontworpen om de beeldprestaties van de beeldsensor te optimaliseren - is geüpgraded naar het Pixel Shift Resolution System II.
Dit systeem beschikt over een nieuw ontwikkelde Dynamic Pixel Shift Resolution-modus, waarmee de fotograaf foto's met een zeer hoge gevoeligheid kan maken bij opnamen vanuit de hand, door de kleine schommelingen van de positie van het onderwerp te detecteren tijdens continu-opnamen. Naast de conventionele opnamestijl met een statief, biedt deze innovatieve modus een nieuwe optie voor de fotograaf om te genieten van fotografie met extreem hoge gevoeligheid met een breder scala aan onderwerpen en scènes. De camera is ook uitgerust met tal van eigenschappen en functies die zijn ontworpen om de creativiteit en het bedieningsgemak van de fotograaf te optimaliseren, waaronder een betrouwbare behuizing van magnesiumlegering met een stofdichte, weerbestendige constructie; een optische zoeker met een gezichtsveld van bijna 100 procent, een geavanceerd bewegingsreductiesysteem en een flexibele, kantelbare LCD-monitor voor verschillende opnamehoeken.
