De Ricoh WG-80 is een robuuste compact camera, geschikt voor onderwaterfotografie en algemeen buitengebruik. De compacte, lichtgewichte body is waterbestendig (14 meter), schok- en valbestendig (1,6 meter), vriesbestendig (tot -10°C) en drukbestendig (100 kgf). De camera is bovendien uitgerust met een outdoor-friendly 2,7” LCD-scherm. Hierdoor hoef je je geen zorgen te maken om je camera, hoe veeleisend de situatie dan ook!

De WG-80 is voorzien van een 18 MP CMOS-sensor. De sensor is back-illuminated, wat zorgt voor een hogere lichtopbrengst, minder ruis en een groter dynamisch bereik. De sensor is zo ontworpen dat je ook onderwater mooie contrastrijke beelden schiet. De maximale lichtgevoeligheid bedraagt ISO 6400. Ook in donkere lichtomstandigheden kan je met de Handheld Night Snap modus nog prima foto’s maken. De camera is namelijk zo slim dat hij meerdere foto’s samenvoegt tot één foto zonder bewegingsonscherpte. Met zes LED macrolichten rond de lens kan je objecten oplichten in de Digitale Microscope modus. Ook in de Self-Portrait Assist modus bieden de lichtjes uitkomst in het donker. De WG-80 beschikt over een flitserfunctie die twee opnamen achter elkaar maken. Eentje met flitser aan en eentje met flitser uit. Dit is vooral handig als je dieren op de plaat wil vastleggen

Dankzij de 5-25mm (35mm equivalent van 28-140mm) lens heb je 7,5 keer optische zoom, van een mooie groothoek tot lichte tele. Daarbij biedt de camera ook 25 scènemodi voor verscheidenheid aan opname-situaties, maar ook gezichtsdetectie voor 32 gezichten.

Met de WG-80 maak je bovendien mooie video’s in Full HD (1920 x 1080) in 30 fps. Voor de creatieve touch is de camera voorzien van een slow-motion modus. Als je deze gebruikt dan schiet je in HD beeldkwaliteit (1280 x 720).
